According to the study, individuals without any memory loss who consume coffee exhibit a lower risk of experiencing mild cognitive impairment, a precursor to Alzheimer’s. The lead researcher emphasized that even a modest delay in the onset of Alzheimer’s can have substantial social and economic benefits.

The global popularity of coffee makes it an appealing subject for further studies on cognitive health. While the mechanics of how coffee exerts its beneficial effects are still unclear, the research suggests that it may help reduce amyloid protein buildup in the brain, which is associated with Alzheimer’s.
